He was born on December 16, 1990, in Mafikeng, North West, South Africa, to parents Muzuki and Letsebela Phoolo. Cassper has a sister named Tsholofelo Phoolo, and their brother, Khotso Phoolo, sadly passed away in 2003.

Cassper attended Sol Plaatjie Secondary School, where he was involved in sports and began rapping at the age of 12.

However, in 2006, he faced challenges with his Grade 10 exams and decided to leave school at the age of 16. This decision led him to move to his grandmother's house in Potchefstroom.
