Jared Drake Bell, born on June 27, 1986, is an American actor and musician hailing from Newport Beach, California. He started his acting career at the young age of five with his first televised appearance on Home Improvement, followed by several commercials. Bell gained fame for his starring roles on Nickelodeon's The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh, as well as for his voice-over work as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney XD. He also starred in a trilogy of The Fairly OddParents movies on Nickelodeon.
Bell has also established himself as a musician since the early 2000s, during his time on The Amanda Show. He formed a band called Drake 24/7 and co-wrote and performed the theme song for Drake & Josh titled Found a Way. Bell released his debut album, Telegraph, independently in 2005 under his own name. He then signed with Universal Motown Records and released his second album, It's Only Time, in 2006, which debuted at No. 81 on the Billboard 200 and sold over 23,000 copies in its first week of release. As of 2012, It's Only Time has sold 178,000 copies in the United States. In 2008, Bell released his first video album, Drake Bell in Concert, which debuted at No. 81 on the Top 100 Mexican Albums Chart. He independently released an EP titled A Reminder in 2011, and in 2014, he released his third album, Ready Steady Go!, under indie label Surfdog Records. Ready Steady Go! debuted at No. 182 on the Billboard 200, and sold 2,000 copies during its first week of release.

On December 29, 2005, a then 19-year-old Bell was traveling with a friend from Malibu to Los Angeles. While stopped at a red light on California State Route 1, their vehicle was struck by another car. The collision resulted in severe injuries for Bell, including a fractured neck and vertebra, a broken jaw, the loss of seven teeth, and deep lacerations to his face. Although Bell's passenger suffered only bruises, Bell's injuries were not life-threatening, but required extensive medical attention.
Bell underwent surgery on his chin and mouth and required over 70 facial stitches as part of his recovery process. Additionally, his jaw had to be wired shut for two months to ensure proper healing. Despite the severity of his injuries, Bell was fortunate to survive the accident.
In 2007, Bell bought a 2,640-square-foot (245 m2) house in Los Feliz for $2,050,000. However, after Bell filed for bankruptcy in California in early 2014, the lender foreclosed on the property.
