She's most famous for her role as Bridgette Bird in the Showtime series SMILF, which she wrote, directed, and starred in based on a 2015 short film. Shaw also appeared in the 2010–2011 Spike TV series Blue Mountain State and had a recurring part in the first season of the USA Network show Mr. Robot.
Her mom, from South Boston with an Irish Catholic background, raised her in the Jewish faith after her parents split when she was four. She grew up with her older half-brother, who now owns a bar in Boston.
