At the young age of seven, Holland found herself in the presence of renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg while playing at her stepfather Brian de Palma's neighbour's house in The Hamptons, New York. Impressed by her presence, Spielberg encouraged her parents to consider putting her in front of a camera.

Taking his advice, Holland signed with Ford Modeling Agency and quickly landed her first modelling gig for Burberry. Throughout her career, she has also worked with well-known brands such as Guess, Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Ralph Lauren.
