ASUU Yesterday Meeting Update, What To Expect?

ASUU STRIKE UPDATE

FACTS ABOUT YESTERDAY’S MEETING

1. ASUU meeting which was held yesterday Tuesday August-08-2022 with FG wasn't 100% satisfactory but didn't end in deadlock as was claimed.

The development from the meeting include

*Resolving the issue of UTAS vs IPPIS

*100% increase in salaries, among others.

The issue of great argument was on revitalization fund and this is one of the basic lingering issue as from the meeting held yesterday which remain unconcluded.

2. Even at that, satisfactory or not; ASUU can't call off a strike after meeting with FG.

ASUU, even with a positive meeting outcome, won't announce the calling off of the strike tonight and that because ASUU will have to present the proposed offer by FG to her members and will have her members decide

3. Before ASUU calls off any strike, the NSCC must meet and that meeting is holding tonight.

4. Also, ASUU branches will hold congresses, it's the congress that determines if the strike end or not.

1. National Strike Coordinating Committee (NSCC) meeting tonight by 7pm

2. NEC meeting will follow immediately the NSCC meeting

3. Branches will be directed to hold congresses
