1. Øresund Bridge – Denmark and Sweden border

This railway and road arch crosses the Øresund bridge between Sweden and Denmark, and connects the Copenhagen metropolitan with Malmo metropolitan. The total length of the bridge is 7,845 meters (25,738 ft) which makes it Europe’s longest combined road and rail bridge

There are many bridges on the long border between the United States and Canada, but the Ambassador Bridge that connects Detroit, Michigan with Windsor, Ontario is the busiest international border crossing in North America. In fact, more than 25% of all the merchandise trade between the countries pass through this bridge. The arch is a suspension bridge with a total length of 2,300m (7,500 ft)

3. Three Countries Bridge – France and Germany border

The Three Countries Bridge is located near the tripoint (or tri-border area) of France, Germany and Switzerland, within the metropolitan area of Basel, Switzerland. The bridge spans the Rhine River between France and Germany ,within the the metropolitan area. This beautiful arch bridge is for pedestrians and cyclists only, and has a total length of is 248m (813 ft)

4. Rainbow Bridge – United States and Canada border

The Rainbow Bridge is a 440m (1,450 ft) long arch for both vehicles and pedestrians that spans the Niagara River gorge. The bridge opened in 1941 and connects the cities of Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls, Ontario. The bridge offers fascinating views of the Niagara Falls, and the origin for its name is the fact that a rainbow is often seen over the fall.

5. New Europe Bridge – Bulgaria and Romania border

The New Europe Bridge is a road and rail bridge that spans the Danube River and connects the cities of Vidin in Bulgaria and Calafat in Romania. Opened in 2013, the New Europe bridge is the second bridge that spans the Danube on its shared section between the two countries. It has a total length of 1,971 m (6,467 ft)

6. Victoria Falls Bridge – Zimbabwe and Zambia border

The Victoria Falls Bridge crosses the Zambezi River not far from the world famous Victoria Falls, from which it took its name. The bridge is a road, rail and pedestrian bridge, connecting the towns of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Livingstone in Zambia. The bridge entire length is 198 meters (650 ft), and the deck is set across the gorge, at a height of 128 meters (420 ft) above the river below. Construction of the bridge took around a year and it finally opened in 1905

7. Allenby Bridge (King Hussein Bridge) – Israel and Jordan border

Allenby bridge or King Hussein bridge spans the Jordan River and connecting the West Bank with Jordan, with Jordanian and Israeli border control on both sides. The bridge itself is not as impressive (and certainly not as long) as the rest of the bridges mentioned here, but it has long and unique history, that fits its biblical location. Originally there was an old Ottoman bridge at this location, built in 1885. It was replaced by the British in 1918. Later, it was then destroyed in 1946 by the fighting force of the Jewish community and destroyed once more during the Six Day War of 1967. A temporary bridge was set in 1968 and after the Jordan-Israeli peace treaty, the current permanent bridge was built in the late 1990s.

Opened in 2007, this 672m (2204 ft) long bridge spans the Panj River and connecting Tajikistan with Afghanistan. The bridge was financed by the United States. There are a couple more smaller bridges that connect Tajikistan and Afghanistan, built around the same time as this bridge

9. Bridge of No Return – South Korea and North Korea border

Located in the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North Korea and South Korea, the Bridge of No Return is not your typical border crossing. The bridge was used for prisoner exchanges at the end of the Korean War in 1953 and was last used for that purpose in 1968. The bridge ceased all other activity in 1976, after two United States Army officers were killed by North Korean soldiers. Nevertheless, the bridge is still surrounded by many checkpoints on both sides

The Bosphorus bridge or First Bosphorus bridge doesn’t cross an international border as both its sides are in Istanbul, Turkey.
