John The Golden Arm Unitas was a true football legend. He spent larger part of his profession playing for the Baltimore Yearlings. He set records as a quarterback and was named MVP of the NFL in 1957, 1959, 1964, and also 1964. In 1979, Unitas was included in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award has been given to the best senior quarterback in college football each year since 1987 to honor his legacy.

Throughout his career, he frequently made game-winning catches. He demonstrated what dedication is and what it means to him by playing 303 games over 20 seasons. He only missed 14 games during the 1997 regular season.
