Canadian defenseman Alexander Pietrangelo, born on January 18, 1990, is an alternate captain for the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL.
Before joining the Knights, he played for the St. Louis Blues for twelve seasons, captaining them for the last four. Petro competed in the OHL with Niagara IceDogs and Barrie Colts during his junior years. He's a two-time Stanley Cup champion, winning with the Blues in 2019 and the Knights in 2023.
Pietrangelo excelled with Team Canada, earning gold at the 2009 World Junior Championships and being named Best Defenceman at the 2010 World Junior Championship and 2011 Men's World Championship.
He also won a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics as part of the Canadian Olympic hockey team.
