When The Sydney Morning Herald wrote an article regarding the arrest of Shavershian's older brother Said for illegally possessing anabolic steroids in July 2011, Shavershian attracted more media attention.
Aziz passed away at the age of 22 on August 5, 2011, while on vacation in Thailand as a result of a heart attack.

While on vacation in Pattaya on August 5, 2011, Shavershian had a heart attack in a sauna.
When he arrived at the hospital, the medical staff was unable to revive him. His passing was announced on Facebook by his family and friends. On August 9, 2011, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade acknowledged his passing (DFAT).
An unidentified congenital heart abnormality and cardiomegaly that caused cardiac arrest were discovered during an autopsy.
Prior to August 2011, his family said that he had had a number of mild symptoms, including elevated blood pressure and sporadic shortness of breath. His family had a history of heart issues.
