Career

Love started doing stand-up comedy at 15 years old. He made his acting debut off-Broadway at age 19. His first voice acting role was in the movie Bebe's Kids where he voiced the late comedian Robin Harris. After that, Love got a role in the movie The Meteor Man starring Robert Townsend. Townsend then cast Love as a main character on his TV sitcom The Parent 'Hood.

Love's breakthrough came when he played the drug dealer Big Worm in the 1995 comedy Friday. He followed up with roles in movies like 3 Strikes, Elf, Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, Money Talks, Wonderland, The Fighting Temptations and Idlewild. In 2001, Love guest starred on the Ludacris song "Freaky Thangs." That same year, he made a cameo as a bus driver in the Lil Jon & The East Side Boys music video for "Put Yo Hood Up."

One of Love's most well-known roles was voicing the character Sean "Sweet" Johnson in the 2004 video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Sweet is the leader of the Grove Street gang and main protagonist's older brother. In 2009, Love co-starred in the comedy Couples Retreat about four couples working out their issues at a resort.

In 2012, Love portrayed Stringer Bell in a satirical musical trailer based on the TV series The Wire. That June, he started appearing in Boost Mobile commercials promoting their new 4G phones.
