Kimberly Perry's musical journey started in her teenage years when she performed in her own band. Her brothers, Neil and Reid, supported her as roadies and eventually became her opening act. Later, Kimberly released an EP titled Carry On, featuring a song with the same name, which inspired two tracks on Pioneer. In 2005, they joined the New Faces of Country tour after forming the Band Perry.
