Laura Ann Osnes is an American actress and singer famous for her roles on Broadway.

She starred in Grease as Sandy, South Pacific as Nellie Forbush, Anything Goes as Hope Harcourt, and Bonnie and Clyde as Bonnie Parker, earning a Tony Award nomination.

She also played the lead in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, getting a Drama Desk Award and her second Tony Award nomination.

Osnes was born in Burnsville, Minnesota, and grew up in Eagan, near Saint Paul. She's a Christian and started acting in second grade as a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz.

She attended Eagan High School and briefly studied Musical Theatre at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point before pursuing a professional career.

Between 2005 and 2006, she was a performing apprentice at the Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis, acting in various shows.

She also played Sandy in Grease at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. Later, she joined the TV talent competition "Grease: You're the One that I Want!"

In 2015, Osnes was a judge and mentor for the Songbook Academy, a summer program for high school students by the Great American Songbook Foundation, founded by Michael Feinstein.

Laura Osnes earned the nickname "Small Town Sandy" on the show. She was a top favorite throughout, never in the bottom two. She won on March 25, 2007, landing the role of Sandy alongside Max Crumm, who played "Danny."

Osnes and Crumm wrapped up as Sandy and Danny on July 20, 2008. They passed the roles to Ashley Spencer and Derek Keeling, finalists from Grease: You're the One that I Want!.

Osnes shone at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Broadway: Three Generations. It showcased shorter versions of Girl Crazy, Bye Bye Birdie, and Side Show from October 2–5, 2008.

Osnes expanded her repertoire to the world of film, starring in the Hallmark Channel movie In the Key of Love alongside Scott Michael Foster.

The movie made its debut on the network on August 11, 2019. She also took on roles as Charlotte in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries' A Homecoming for the Holidays and as Anna in Hallmark Channel's One Royal Holiday, sharing the screen with Aaron Tveit and Victoria Clark.
