He gained recognition for his notable performances as Detective Eddie Arlette in Keen Eddie (2003–2004), Brad Chase in Boston Legal (2004–2007), John Scott in Fringe (2008–2009), Christopher Chance in Human Target (2010–2011), Oliver Richard in Harry's Law (2011–2012), and Tommy Sullivan in Body of Proof (2013).
With over 60 acting credits to his name, Mark Valley has appeared in various films, including The Next Best Thing (2000), Jericho (2000), and Zero Dark Thirty (2012), as well as several television series, including Days of Our Lives (1994–1997), Once and Again (2000–2001), ER (2000–2003), Pasadena (2001–2002), Crisis (2014), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2014–2015), and Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce (2015–2016).

Career
While serving in the U.S. Army in Germany, Valley secured his first acting role on The Innocent (1993). In the same year, he portrayed Father Pete on Another World. Valley then took on the role of Jack Deveraux in the NBC Daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives from 1994 to 1997. In 2003, he played Detective Eddie Arlette, an American police officer stationed in London, on Keen Eddie, which had a brief run.
Valley went on to play Brad Chase in the spinoff of The Practice, Boston Legal. He also appeared as Richard Lockhart, the ex-husband of Abby Lockhart, on the television series ER. In 2008, he portrayed FBI agent John Scott on Fringe. Valley later took on the lead role in Fox's drama Human Target.
In 2012, Valley became a regular cast member on ABC's Body of Proof, where he played the character of Det.
Tommy Sullivan, who was also the love interest of Dana Delany's character. He had previously co-starred with Delany in her short-lived series Pasadena in 2001.
