She was born on 14th June 1980 in Karimnagar, Telangana, India. She started her career as a journalist and worked for a Telugu newspaper called 'Sakshi' as a news reader.
In 2008, Savitri made her debut as a television anchor with the show 'Teenmaar News' on V6 News channel. She became popular with her unique style of delivering news and soon became a household name in Telangana.
