Taime Downe Biography
Taime Downe is a well-known American singer, musician, and songwriter who is known as the lead singer of the 1980s band Faster Pussycat.
In high school, he formed a band called The Bondage Boys. They released a song called The Loser on a compilation featuring Seattle bands. Later, he moved from Seattle to San Diego and then Los Angeles.
In Hollywood, he worked at Retail Slut and managed stage lights at the Troubadour. One day, he asked Magnus Walker about his pants, and that led to a business deal.
In 1985, he started Faster Pussycat, and they released their first album in 1987. The band signed with Elektra Records and sold many copies of their 1989 album. They toured with famous acts.
In 1992, the band broke up, and Downe moved to Chicago. He also did some music work with other artists.
Afterwards, he returned to Los Angeles and formed The Newlydeads, releasing albums in 2001. They also reunited for a tour in 2002.
In 2006, Downe released a best-of album for The Newlydeads and a Faster Pussycat album.
