In 2021, she made history with the Utah Jazz as their first female colour commentator in a game against the Sacramento Kings.

Rowe graduated from Woods Cross High School in Utah in 1984 and attended Brigham Young University. While at BYU, she worked as a news anchor for KBYU-TV. She also wrote for the Daily Utah Chronicle and the Davis County Clipper.

Later, she earned a broadcast journalism degree from the University of Utah in 1991. In 1991-1992, she interned at CBS Sports.

Before becoming a full-time college football sideline reporter, Rowe worked part-time as a sideline reporter for certain ESPN broadcasts in 1997. She also had previous experience with ABC Sports in 1995 and 1996.

At ESPN, Rowe has covered women's college basketball games and women's college volleyball since 1998, primarily in a play-by-play role alongside her college football duties. She has also been involved in play-by-play commentary for Women's World Cup matches, the Running of the Bulls, swimming events, and track and field broadcasts.

Rowe, as a woman in sports broadcasting, has received media attention and profiling.
