Jihan Wu is a Chinese billionaire in cryptocurrency. He co-founded Bitmain with Micree Zhan in 2013, making it the world's largest Bitcoin mining chip company with $2.5 billion in revenue in 2017.
He supports Bitcoin Cash, a 2017 fork with higher transaction capacity. Wu ranked among Asia's youngest billionaires on Forbes' 2020 list.
Wu graduated from Chongqing Nankai Secondary School and earned dual degrees in economics and psychology from Peking University in 2009.
After university, Wu worked as a financial analyst. In 2011, he discovered Bitcoin and raised 100,000 yuan ($15,373 in 2011) from family and friends, buying 900 bitcoins.

With fellow enthusiast Chang Jia, he founded China's first Bitcoin community site, Babite. He also translated Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoin white paper into Chinese in late 2011.
