Mary Wilson Biography

Mary Wilson, an American vocalist, achieved worldwide acclaim as one of the original members of The Supremes, a highly successful Motown group in the 1960s.

The music industry recognized The Supremes as one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, and they held the record as the best-charting female group in U.S. chart history.

During their illustrious career, The Supremes topped Billboard's Hot 100 chart with twelve of their singles, and Wilson contributed her exceptional backing vocals to ten of those tracks.

Wilson continued her journey with the group even after the departure of the other three founding members—Barbara Martin in 1962, Florence Ballard in 1967, and Diana Ross in 1970. However, The Supremes disbanded after Wilson's departure in 1977.
