As a Mexican-American entertainer, Selena achieved immense popularity and acclaim in the late 20th century. In 2020, Billboard magazine ranked her as the third greatest Latino artist of all time based on the success of her Latin albums and songs.

Born into the Quintanilla family, Selena was the youngest child. She made her debut in the music scene as a member of the band Selena y Los Dinos, which consisted of her elder siblings A.B.
