He gained fame as a teenager on All That and later hosted shows like The Nick Cannon Show, Wild 'n Out, America's Got Talent, Lip Sync Battle Shorties, and The Masked Singer.

As an actor, he appeared in films like Drumline, Love Don't Cost a Thing, and Roll Bounce.

In 2003, he released his debut self-titled album featuring the single Gigolo with R. Kelly. Cannon also played the role of TJ Harper in the 2007 film Goal II: Living the Dream.
