Parker revealed on October 12, 2020, that he had been diagnosed with an inoperable grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumour.
He had a seizure in July, was put on the waiting list for an MRI, and then had another one while on a family vacation.
Parker said on Instagram in January 2021 that his tumour had substantially decreased and that he was still receiving therapy. Parker performed a special charity concert in support of Stand Up to Cancer in September at the Royal Albert Hall. The concert, titled Inside My Head, included performances by singers like Becky Hill, McFly, Liam Payne, and his Wanted colleagues for the first time since they announced their break in 2014.

Parker tweeted on November 3 that his brain tumor was stable: had the results of my most recent scan, and I'm happy to report that it is stable.
Despite his earlier claims of stability, Parker later experienced a sharp decline in his health. At the age of 33, Parker passed away from glioblastoma-related complications at St. Christopher's Hospice in Bromley, London, on March 30, 2022.
His Wanted bandmates paid tribute to Parker: Max George described himself as heartbroken beyond words, Nathan Sykes remarked that [their] lives would never be the same, and Siva Kaneswaran expressed gratitude for having the opportunity to see [Parker's] true heroism.
Many other well-known people paid their respects. Additionally, a Pointless Celebrities episode that he and George had taped the year before was moved up in the lineup and dedicated to him.
On April 20, Parker's funeral service was held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Petts Wood.
