Tyler Stewart whose full name is Tyler Joseph Stewart is a famous drummer in the Canadian band Barenaked Ladies.
In 1990, Stewart met Steven Page, Ed Robertson, and Jim Creeggan at the Waterloo Busker Carnival in Ontario, Canada.
Andy Creeggan, who used to play congas, switched to keyboards when he found Stewart on the drums. Stewart has stayed with the band, adding various percussive elements, including piano on Born on a Pirate Ship.
Stewart uses an electronic sampler pad for live shows and plays other instruments like shakers and bongo drums. He doesn't write songs for the band or side projects, except for a few. He sang lead on a couple of songs and filled in for live performances when Steven Page left.
