Virginia Macdonald succumbed to her illness and passed away in 1851. Her mother was certain that Virginia was not dead after she was buried. Sadly, when the coffin was opened, the girl's hands were bitten, and other signs that she had been buried alive were found on her body.
2. Madame Blunden

In 1896, Madame Blunden was pronounced dead and buried beneath a school. After children complained about noises, the coffin was opened, and those present were able to witness her passing away.

In 1886, Collins, a young girl, was the subject of an article in the New York Times about her sudden death and burial.
It was discovered as her body was being moved that her knees had been pulled all the way up to her chin, that her arm had been turned out of place, and that her face had been twisted in such a way that it was obvious that she had been subjected to terrible torture.

In 1889, an article about a man who was buried in Grenoble appeared in the Daily Telegraph. It was assumed that he had passed away due to his 20-hour period of intoxication.
However, as the sexton was putting the heavy coffin in the grave, he heard frantic knocks and loud moans. The man had passed away by the time he opened it, and his head was badly mutilated.

In 1838, an article about a man who was buried alive in Tonneins appeared in the Sunday Times.
The gravedigger heard loud noises as the coffin was being lowered into the earth, and it turned out that the man had died too soon.

The undertaker realized that Mary had woken up and managed to open the casket when it was discovered that her skeleton was sitting up in 1881.
