In 1969, Plumb took on the role of Jan Brady, which she portrayed until the series concluded in 1974. Following this, she continued her work in television, including a role as a teenage prostitute in the NBC film Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway (1976) and as Elizabeth March in the 1978 miniseries Little Women.
Plumb reprised her role as Jan Brady in various reunion series and films like The Brady Brides (1981) and A Very Brady Christmas (1988).
