Rasheed Abdul Wallace, an American basketball coach and former professional player, was born on September 17, 1974, in Philadelphia.

He attended the University of North Carolina, where he played college basketball before entering the 1995 NBA draft.

Wallace enjoyed a successful career spanning 16 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

In the 1995 NBA draft, Wallace was selected as the fourth pick by the Washington Bullets, now known as the Washington Wizards. Following his debut season, he earned a spot on the All-Rookie second team.

However, he was later traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. During his time with the Trail Blazers, Wallace played a pivotal role in the team's appearances in the Western Conference Finals in 1999 and 2000.

He showcased his talent by becoming an NBA All-Star in both 2000 and 2001. Notably, Wallace achieved his career-best average of 19.4 points per game in 2002 while playing for the Trail Blazers.

In the 2003–04 season, Wallace was traded to the Atlanta Hawks but played only one game before being moved to the Detroit Pistons.

It was with the Pistons that he achieved the ultimate success, winning the NBA championship in 2004 and reaching the NBA Finals in the subsequent season, though they fell short against the San Antonio Spurs in a seven-game series. Individually, Wallace earned NBA All-Star honours in 2006 and 2008.

Following the 2008–09 season, he left the Pistons as a free agent and joined the Boston Celtics, where he played until his retirement in 2010. However, Wallace returned to the court in 2012, signing a one-year deal to play for the New York Knicks. He eventually announced his second retirement on April 17, 2013.

Wallace holds the record for the most technical fouls in a single season. In the 2000–01 season, he received 41 technical fouls throughout 80 games, averaging about one technical foul every two games.
