Fisher also had stints with the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks. In addition to his on-court achievements, he served as the president of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).
Before his professional career, Fisher played college basketball for the Arkansas–Little Rock Trojans. In 1996, he was recognized as the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year. Following an impressive college career, Fisher was selected by the Lakers as the 24th pick in the 1996 NBA draft.
