In 1993, he moved to Flint, Michigan, where he became a sports anchor and reporter at WJRT-TV, catching the attention of ESPN.

He hosted NBA 2Night in 1996 and 1997 and later served as the studio host for RPM 2Night and RPM 2Day on ESPN2 from 1997 to 1999.
