Biography
Thurman Lee Thomas is an American former football running back. He was in the NFL for 13 years, mostly with the Buffalo Bills. The Bills chose him in the 1988 NFL Draft's second round, and he spent almost his entire career with them. In 2000, he played one year with the Miami Dolphins. You can also check out DeMarco Murray.
During his 12 years with the Bills, Thomas was a key part of the K-Gun offence that used quick no-huddle formations. He made it to the Pro Bowl five times, got first-team All-Pro honours twice, and became the NFL MVP in 1991. His efforts helped the Bills reach four Super Bowls in a row from 1991 to 1994, but they didn't win any of those games. He got into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
He started playing football in junior high and high school in Missouri City. In 1982-83, he led his high school team to a Texas Class 4A State Title. He used to live in the Willow Park II neighbourhood, which is southeast of the Fort Bend Tollway and Beltway 8.

Thomas went to college at Oklahoma State University, where he played on the same team as running back Barry Sanders.
During his time there, Thomas rushed for 4,595 yards, scored 43 touchdowns, gained 5,146 total yards, and had 21 games where he ran over 100 yards.

In 1985 and 1987, Thomas led the Big Eight in both rushing and scoring, winning the conference's Offensive Player of the Year award both times. He was a standout in 1985 with 1,553 rushing yards, ranking fourth in the country.
He faced a setback when he injured his left knee's ACL between his sophomore and junior seasons, causing him to miss some games in 1986. But he made a strong comeback in his senior year with 1,613 rushing yards, placing third in the nation.
He set a record for the most rushing attempts in Oklahoma State history between 1984 and 1987, carrying the ball an impressive 897 times.
In the 1987 Sun Bowl, Thomas ran for 157 yards and scored four touchdowns, leading the team to a 35-33 comeback victory against West Virginia. This sidelined Barry Sanders for most of the game.

Thomas became the school's all-time leading rusher and had his number 34 jersey retired, which he chose in honour of Earl Campbell and Walter Payton.
