Biography
Daniel Alfredsson is a Swedish-Canadian former NHL player who spent 18 seasons with the Ottawa Senators and briefly played for the Detroit Red Wings before retiring in 2014.
He captained the Senators from 1999 to 2013 and was part of the CASH or Pizza line with Jason Spezza and Dany Heatley. Alfredsson set franchise records with 426 goals, 682 assists, and 1,108 points in 1,178 games.
Internationally, he played for Sweden 14 times, winning gold in 2006 and silver in 2014.
Hall of fame
Alfredsson achieved 1,000 career points in the NHL, and in 2022, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and holds an Honorary Degree from Carleton University. In 2018, he was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame.
