Willie Roaf whose full name is William Layton Roaf and also known as Nasty, is a retired American NFL player. He played as an offensive tackle for 13 seasons in the National Football League.
Roaf began his football journey at Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, where he earned All-American honours. He was a first-round pick in the 1993 NFL Draft and played for the New Orleans Saints and the Kansas City Chiefs. With 11 Pro Bowl selections and nine All-Pro honours, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
Roaf started his sports career at Pine Bluff High School, playing football and basketball for the Pine Bluff Zebras. Surprisingly, he wasn't heavily recruited in high school and even thought about playing college basketball.

Career
William Roaf had a great football career. He got a scholarship to Louisiana Tech University, where he played from 1989 to 1992. Roaf was known for his good blocking and speed for his size. He became a first-team All-American and was a finalist for the Outland Trophy for the best college lineman in his senior year. He also played in the Hula Bowl and the East–West Shrine Game.
In 1993, Roaf started his pro football journey with the New Orleans Saints, who picked him in the 1993 NFL Draft. He played nine seasons with the Saints, going to seven Pro Bowls. He's on the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team and the 2000s All-Decade Team, making him the most-awarded player in Saints history.
Roaf had a tough year in 2001 with an injury, then got traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2002. He played four more seasons with the Chiefs and made the Pro Bowl each year, totalling 11 Pro Bowl selections.
He retired from football in 2006, despite hopes he'd come back. In 2009, he became a coach at Santa Monica College.
Roaf is in several Sports Halls of Fame, including Louisiana Tech Athletics, Arkansas, Louisiana, Greater New Orleans, and the New Orleans Saints.
