Akiva D. Schaffer is a multi-talented American comedian, actor, writer, and film director, who is best known for his involvement with the comedy group The Lonely Island.
Along with his childhood friends Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone, Schaffer began his career by creating videos for Channel 101. In 2005, the trio was hired by Saturday Night Live, with Schaffer joining as a writer.
During their time at SNL, The Lonely Island revolutionized the digital short format by producing some of the most popular sketches of all time, including Lazy Sunday, I Just Had Sex, I'm on a Boat, and Dick in a Box.
Following his work on SNL, Schaffer went on to direct several successful movies such as Hot Rod, The Watch, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers.
