Colin Trevorrow is a successful American filmmaker who gained critical and commercial acclaim with his feature directorial debut, the science fiction comedy Safety Not Guaranteed in 2012.
Trevorrow's career took off when he co-wrote and directed the first instalment of the Jurassic Park franchise's revival, Jurassic World, in 2015. The film was a massive commercial success, grossing over $1 billion and propelling Trevorrow to mainstream recognition.
He continued to work on the franchise, co-writing the 2018 sequel, Fallen Kingdom, and co-writing and directing the third instalment, Dominion, which was released in 2022.
Trevorrow was also involved in the development of Star Wars: Duel of the Fates as a co-writer and director until his departure in 2017. Despite not directing the final version of the film, he retained story credit when it was eventually released as The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.
