Douglas Daniel Weight is a retired American ice hockey player and coach. He played in the NHL for 19 years, representing various teams.

Weight's coaching career included being the head coach for the New York Islanders. He also served as an assistant general manager for them.

During his youth, Weight played in the 1983 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Detroit Compuware team.

He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, Michigan, in 1989. Weight was drafted by the Bloomfield Jets in the North American Junior Hockey League (NAJHL) and later played for Lake Superior State University.

After a 19-season NHL career, Weight retired in 2011 due to a back injury. He continued with the Islanders as an assistant coach and special assistant to the GM.
