Rogan, who was up in Newark, New Jersey, started his comedy career in the Boston region in August 1988. He signed an exclusive developmental contract with Disney after moving to Los Angeles in 1994, and he then made multiple acting appearances on television programs including Hardball and NewsRadio.

Rogan began working as an interviewer and color commentator for the UFC in 1997. He presented the game program Fear Factor from 2001 to 2006 and produced his first comedy special, I'm Gonna Be Dead Someday…, in 2000.

Rogan concentrated on his career as a stand-up comedian after leaving Fear Factor and presented several comedy specials.
